I settled my Workers’ Compensation case with another Firm. The Judge mentioned something about reopening it, but I did not really understand.
Under most settlements which are presented to the Court as an “Order Approving Settlement”, you are permitted to reopen the case for two-year from your last payment of permanency benefits. You would have the right to reopen the case to ask for additional medical treatment, or to return to Court should your disability get significantly worse. After two years, the claim would be completely closed.
