New Jersey construction accident injures 5

Five construction workers were working at a site in Ocean County when the roof they were standing on collapsed.
All five of the workers received varying degrees of injuries from the fall, where they landed in a large heap of rubble. They were in the process of constructing a new Quick Chek convenience store when the workplace accident occurred. A few of the workers have been unable to return to work since the accident.
According to an OSHA spokesperson, the responsibility of the roof’s stability falls on a subcontractor and not the actual company that the men were employed by. They are looking into the possibility of workers’ compensation benefits for their injuries.
