Two charged with workers’ compensation fraud in Oklahoma

Posted on Monday, January 16th, 2012 at 5:38 pm

A 38-year-old Tulsa, Oklahoma man as well as a 26-year-old woman have been charged with workers’ compensation fraud stemming from a claim filed in 2010.

The man was employed as a maintenance worker at an apartment complex in Tulsa and the woman was the apartment complex manager. The 38-year-old was attacked by three men while he was on the apartment grounds in 2010, although he was not working at the time of the incident.

The manager felt sorry for the man, who did not have insurance, and told him that he should claim he was working at the time so that he could receive workers’ compensation for his injuries. He allegedly received $6,700 in workers’ compensation benefits illegally.

Workers’ compensation is granted to individuals who have been hurt while on the job. If you need help filing a claim for workers’ compensation, please contact the New Jersey workers’ compensation lawyers of Levinson Axelrod, P.A. by calling 800-346-5529 today.
