According to a report conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor, people working in the healthcare industry are more likely to be injured on the job than other employees in different private industries.
In 2010, out of every 100 healthcare workers 5.2 were injured at work. The same year, only 3.5 out of 100 people working in other private industries were injured on the job. Those private industries include construction jobs.
Three different categories account for the injuries sustained in the healthcare industry. Those categories are: back strains from helping patients, slipping and falling, and needlesticks.
