A salt bin collapse at the Cargill Salt Mine in Lansing, New York killed one person and injured another.

Officials say that two men were loading salt into a truck when a salt bin collapsed on the two men. The accident occurred at 6:30 p.m. and rescue efforts continued until 9:30 a.m. the next day. Officials at the mine say that they are working with investigators to find the cause of the accident. It is unclear if the mine will reopen.
