Welder injured in explosion

A welder was injured in an explosion at the at the Verizon Wireless data center in Carteret earlier this month.

The worker was welding when a sudden explosion blew the doors of his pickup truck off of their hinges. The doors then crashed into the worker. He was rushed to the trauma center of the University Hospital in Newark by ambulance for treatment. No one else was injured in the explosion. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
