Authorities have indicted the owner of a Morris County paving company for failing to pay workers compensation for the past six years, costing the State of New Jersey over $250,000 in insurance payments to an injured employee.
A 2003 injury of an employee cost the state $253,770 because the employer, Accurate Paving, did not have workers compensation. The employee was out for three months due to a serious on-the-job accident. The company’s owner could face a $10,000 fine and up to 18 months in state prison.
